Fort Myers, FL (Sports Network) - Jarrod Saltalamacchia, Pedro Ciriaco and Jose Iglesias all knocked in runs as the Boston Red Sox opened their spring training schedule with a 3-0 victory over Northeastern University.

Seven Boston pitchers, including offseason acquisition Joel Hanrahan, combined for 14 strikeouts over a seven-inning, four-hit shutout.

Shane Victorino, another of Boston's veteran newcomers, went 1-for-1 with a walk and a run scored while batting third in his first action with the Red Sox.
