Recap: Boston vs. Pittsburgh

Fort Myers, FL (Sports Network) - Pedro Alvarez hit a two-run home run as the Pittsburgh Pirates took a 5-3 win over the Boston Red Sox in preseason action.

Garrett Jones hit a solo home run while Alex Presley drove in a run and scored once for the Pirates. Jeff Locke was charged with three runs -- two earned -- on seven hits with a walk in four innings.

Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored for the Red Sox. Clay Buchholz was charged with a run on four hits with a walk and five strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings.
