Recap: Pittsburgh vs. Minnesota

Bradenton, FL (Sports Network) - Eric Fryer went 2-for-2 with three RBI to pace a 13-hit attack that carried the Minnesota Twins to a 7-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates at McKechnie Field.

Doug Bernier finished 3-for-3 with an RBI double and Daniel Ortiz belted a two-run homer for Minnesota, which also received a 2-for-3 day at the plate from Joe Mauer that included an RBI.

Twins starter Vance Worley turned in five solid innings as well, with the right-hander allowing just two runs while scattering seven hits and striking out five without a walk.

A.J. Burnett was touched for a pair of runs over three frames in his final outing before taking the ball for Pittsburgh's season opener against the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

Pedro Alvarez had a huge performance in defeat for the Pirates, going 4-for-5 with a homer and three RBI. Starling Marte added three hits in the loss.
