Recap: Cleveland vs. San Diego

Goodyear, AZ (Sports Network) - Mark Kotsay and Cody Ransom had three hits apiece as the San Diego Padres edged the Cleveland Indians, 11-8, in Cactus League action.

It was not a pretty outing for either team's starter. San Diego's Edinson Volquez gave up six runs on eight hits in two innings and Cleveland's Ubaldo Jimenez gave up five runs on seven hits over two full frames.

The Padres took the lead in the third inning with seven runs. Kyle Blanks went 2-for-3 with two runs scored overall, while Gregorio Petit hit a homer in the eighth off Scott Barnes. Logan Forsythe hit two triples and had two RBI.

Robbie Erlin got the win, although he allowed two runs -- one earned -- on three hits in two innings of relief work.

The Indians plated six runs in the first and two runs in the fourth. Ryan Raburn drove in three runs. Jerry Gil picked up the loss after giving up two runs and walking three.
