Recap: Miami vs. Atlanta

Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Kris Medlen gave up two hits in 4 2/3 scoreless innings, and the Atlanta Braves got an RBI single from Chris Johnson in the ninth to earn a 2-1 spring-training win over the Miami Marlins.

Freddie Freeman homered in the second inning for the Braves.

Miami's Justin Ruggiano walked with the bases full in the sixth, but Chris Coghlan then grounded into an inning-ending double play. Gorkys Hernandez reached third base in the bottom of the ninth, but David Hale struck out Bryan Petersen and Kotchman to end the game.

Nathan Eovaldi threw the first five innings for the Marlins and allowed just one run on three hits.
