Recap: Chicago Cubs vs. LA Angels

Mesa, AZ (Sports Network) - Pinch-runner Shawon Dunston scored the deciding run on an Ernesto Frieri wild pitch in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving the Chicago Cubs a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in spring training play.

The Cubs took a 6-5 lead by tallying four times in the seventh, with Alex Gonzalez delivering a two-run double and Scott Hairston belting a go-ahead solo homer shortly afterward, but the Angels pulled even with a run in the top of the eighth.

David DeJesus and starting pitcher Edwin Jackson each collected two hits for the Cubs, though Jackson was tagged for five runs on eight hits in his five- inning stint.

J.B. Shuck finished 3-for-5 with an RBI single for Anaheim, while Scott Cousins had a two-run double in the loss and Brendan Harris went 2-for-3 with two runs scored.

Angels starter Joe Blanton allowed just two runs while fanning five over six frames, but Nick Maronde was rocked for four runs on four hits in just one inning of relief.
