Scottsdale, AZ (Sports Network) - Reigning World Series MVP Pablo Sandoval finished 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run scored, as the defending champion San Francisco Giants opened their spring training schedule with a 4-1 victory over the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Wilson Valdez, Jackson Williams and Ricky Oropesa each added an RBI, while starter Ryan Vogelsong allowed just two hits and a walk over two scoreless frames.

John Hester knocked in the lone Los Angeles run and Billy Buckner gave up two runs on three hits over two innings to take the loss.
