San Francisco, CA (Sports Network) - Barry Zito pitched into the sixth inning as the San Francisco Giants edged the Oakland Athletics, 3-1, in spring training.

Zito allowed just one run on three hits and three walks over 5 1/3 innings, while Angel Pagan and Nick Noonan each had two hits and drove in a run for the Giants.

Derek Norris knocked in the only run for the A's, whose starter, A.J. Griffin, surrendered two runs on five hits over five frames. He also struck out six.
