Lake Buena Vista, FL (Sports Network) - Zoilo Almonte slugged a two-run homer and Robinson Cano added a solo shot as the Yankees opened up their Grapefruit League slate with an 8-3 win over Atlanta.

Austin Romine added two RBI, while David Phelps allowed three hits over two scoreless innings for the win.

Evan Gattis finished 2-for-3 with a two-run shot for the Braves. Jordan Walden took the loss in relief of Paul Maholm, charged with three hits and four runs -- only one earned -- in his one-inning stint.
