Chad Tracy hit a two-run homer, while Jayson Werth added two hits and a run scored for the Nationals, who saw starter Ross Detwiler give up a run on four hits with four strikeouts over two innings of work.

Shane Robinson hit a solo home run, while C.J. McElroy drove in a pair of runs for the Cardinals, who got a 3-for-3 game from Pete Kozma. Jaime Garcia was charged with a pair of runs on five hits in three innings.
