Recap: Detroit vs. Houston

Lakeland, FL (Sports Network) - Rick Porcello fanned six over four shutout innings as the Detroit Tigers defeated the Houston Astros, 8-5, in spring training action.

Alex Avila drove in three runs and Torii Hunter went 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Tigers. Danny Worth, Kevin Russo, Brayan Pena and Matt Tuiasosopo each drove in a run in the win.

Justin Maxwell hit a two-run homer for the Astros, while Jason Castro, Chris Carter and Jonathan Villar drove in a run apiece. Starter Jarred Cosart allowed three runs on four hits and walked four over two innings.
