Recap: St. Louis vs. Detroit

Jupiter, FL (Sports Network) - Shawn Hill threw four scoreless innings and combined with three relievers on a four-hitter, as the Detroit Tigers posted a 3-0 win over St. Louis.

Hill allowed just one hit, walked one and struck out three. Bruce Rondon worked the fifth before Jose Alvarez and Luke Putkonen each threw a pair of scoreless innings.

Matt Tuiasosopo finished with two hits, including a leadoff homer in the fifth inning. Nick Castellanos doubled in a run for Detroit and Ramon Santiago drove in another with a sacrifice fly.

Jaime Garcia worked the first five innings for St. Louis and was charged with three runs on six hits.
