Recap: Detroit vs. Houston

Lakeland, FL (Sports Network) - Carlos Corporan belted two home runs and drove in three, as the Houston Astros powered their way past the Detroit Tigers, 7-2, in Grapefruit League action.

Down 1-0, Brandon Laird launched a two-run homer off Detroit starter Justin Verlander in the fourth to give Houston the lead. Corporan and Matt Dominguez then hit back-to-back homers off Verlander to begin the fifth, and Corporan added a two-run shot in the seventh.

Houston starter Lucas Harrell allowed two runs on three hits, walked three and struck out two in five innings.
