Recap: Houston vs. Chicago Cubs

Houston, TX (Sports Network) - Trevor Crowe clubbed a two-run single as part of a three-run eighth inning that lifted the Houston Astros to a 6-3 victory over the Chicago Cubs on Saturday in the final spring training game for both teams.

Delino DeShields added an RBI single in the rally, while Domingo Santana plated a pair and finished a home run shy of the cycle for the Astros, who open the season Sunday on the road against the Texas Rangers.

Houston starter Brad Peacock allowed two hits over three scoreless frames.

Steve Clevenger registered two RBI and a run scored, while Nate Schierholtz knocked in the other run for the Cubs. Starter Travis Wood struck out seven and gave up two runs on five hits and three walks over 4 1/3 innings.

Chicago opens its 2013 slate in Pittsburgh on Monday.
