Surprise, AZ (Sports Network) - Jeremy Guthrie pitched four innings of one- run, six-hit baseball, as the Kansas City Royals defeated the Cleveland Indians, 5-1, in spring training action.

Alex Gordon, Elliot Johnson, Jeff Francoeur and Roman Hernandez each hit solo home runs for the Royals. Jarrod Dyson had an RBI in the victory.

Lou Marson drove in the only run for the Indians, who saw starter Ubaldo Jimenez allow three runs on three hits and three walks over 4 2/3 innings.
