Recap: LA Angels vs. Kansas City

Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Eric Hosmer had four RBI and his three-run homer capped a seven-run third inning in Kansas City's 13-9 victory over the Los Angeles Angels.

Salvador Perez had two hits and knocked in three runs, while Billy Butler and Brian Fletcher had two RBI apiece for the Royals. Starter James Shields was roughed up for nine runs -- eight earned -- on 11 hits over five innings.

C.J. Wilson was also torched in the start for Los Angeles, as he was charged for six earned runs on eight hits in just 2 2/3 innings. Mike Trout, Josh Hamilton and Mark Trumbo each drove in two runs for the Angels.
