Recap: LA Angels vs. Texas

Anaheim, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Yu Darvish threw 6 1/3 strong innings to lead the Texas Rangers in a 14-3 rout of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the finale of a three-game set.

Darvish (2-1) surrendered three runs on seven hits and one walk while striking out nine to pick up the win.

"After two innings I changed my delivery and their timing was off," Darvish said through an interpreter.

Michael Choice went 2-for-5 with a three-run homer and four RBI, Alex Rios hit a three-run triple and Prince Fielder finished with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored for the Rangers, who won for just the second time in seven tries.

Erick Aybar, who went 3-for-4 finished a triple shy of the cycle with a double and a solo homer and Albert Pujols added a solo shot for the Angels, who dropped two of their last three.

Tyler Skaggs (2-1) was pegged with the loss after giving up six runs on eight hits over 2 2/3 innings.

"They were hitting the pitches I was throwing. I started falling behind in counts. I wasn't throwing the strikes I wanted to throw," Skaggs said. "I'll erase this and put it behind me."

Texas jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. With runners on the corners and one-out, Fielder doubled to right to score Shin-Soo Choo. After Rios walked, Choice singled to bring another run across and J.P. Arencibia capped the inning with a sacrifice fly to left field.

The Halos countered with a pair of runs in the home half. Aybar homered to open the inning and Pujols followed with a round-tripper two batters later to make it 3-2.

Texas added two more in the second. With runners on the corners and no outs, Daniel Robertson grounded into a force out to score Elvis Andrus. After Adrian Beltre flew out, Fielder doubled home Robertson for a 5-2 lead.

Arencibia hit a solo homer in the third and in the fourth Choice slugged a three-run blast giving the Rangers a 9-2 lead after four.

Mike Trout's sacrifice fly in the seventh pulled LA within 9-3, but the Rangers tacked on five more runs in the ninth.

Elvis Andrus hit a sacrifice fly, Beltre belted an RBI single and Rios clubbed a bases-loaded triple to make it 14-3.
