Recap: Miami vs. Philadelphia

Miami, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Jimmy Rollins clubbed a go-ahead, two-run homer in the fifth inning and the Philadelphia Phillies went on to post a 6-5 victory over the Miami Marlins in the opener of a three-game series.

Rollins finished 2-for-4 as he continues to close in on the franchise's all- time hits record. He is now up to 2,215 hits, trailing only Hall of Famers Richie Ashburn (2,217) and Mike Schmidt (2,234).

Philadelphia matched a season high with a third straight win while snapping Miami's four-game winning streak at Marlins Park.

The Marlins, who returned home after a 4-7 road trip, nearly erased a three- run deficit against the Philadelphia bullpen.

Mike Adams walked Casey McGehee to begin the eighth and Garrett Jones followed with a double -- Miami's first hit since the third. One pitch after third baseman Cody Asche couldn't make a basket catch on a popup in foul territory, Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled home McGehee to cut the deficit to 6-4.

Adams worked out of further trouble with a pair of strikeouts and a fielder's choice groundout.

The Marlins threatened again in the ninth against closer Jonathan Papelbon, who walked two before Jones' fourth hit in the game, a two-out bloop single to left-center field plated Giancarlo Stanton.

Papelbon, however, earned his 12th save when Saltalamacchia flied out to center.

The teams were tied at 2-2 after a laborious first inning for both starters.

The Marlins' Anthony DeSclafani (1-1), making his second major league start, gave up an RBI double to Ryan Howard and a run-scoring groundout to Marlon Byrd.

Miami responded with two runs off former Marlin A.J. Burnett (3-3). McGehee hit an RBI single and Marcell Ozuna drew a bases-loaded walk.

Jones gave Miami the lead with an RBI double in the third, but the Phillies moved ahead on Rollins' home run off DeSclafani.

"Obviously if I could have one pitch back, it'd be the one to Rollins," DeSclafani said. "That kinda hurt me. The team gave me a lead and I've got to put zeros up after that."

The blast to right field followed a one-out double by Burnett, who lifted for a pinch hitter with the bases loaded in the sixth.

John Mayberry came off the bench and ripped two-run single off reliever Brad Hand past the third baseman McGehee to make it 6-3.

"They gave me the heads-up that if the bases were loaded, I might get a pinch hit there," Mayberry said. "I just tried to prepare myself to have a quality at-bat, get a good pitch to hit and try to hit it hard."
