Recap: Detroit vs. Texas

Detroit, MI (SportsNetwork.com) - Rougned Odor had two triples and five RBI, Adrian Beltre and Donnie Murphy homered and the Texas Rangers beat the Detroit Tigers 12-2 on Saturday to end Rick Porcello's winning streak at six starts.

Rangers right-hander Nick Martinez (1-1) pitched six innings for his first MLB win, giving up one run on eight hits and a walk.

"We performed today very well and it all started with Nick on the mound," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "(He) did a good job against that type of lineup he had to face today."

Odor was 4-for-5 for the Rangers, who have won four of their last six, He got his fourth hit off Tigers infielder Danny Worth, who pitched the ninth inning for the second time this week.

Worth, throwing knuckleballs, gave up a run on back-to-back doubles by Odor and Michael Choice after pitching a scoreless ninth against the Rangers in the opener of the four-game series on Thursday.

Saturday's game also featured three replay challenges with all three on-field calls being overturned.

Porcello (7-2) had given up just 17 runs this season entering Saturday and had a chance to join Toronto's Mark Buehrle as the only eight-game winners in the majors. He was knocked around for 12 hits and eight runs in 5 1/3 innings.

"If you're not on top of your game every time out you're going to get your butt kicked every once in a while and that's what happened today," Porcello said of his outing.

The bottom of the Texas lineup -- Leonys Martin, Murphy and Odor -- were 6- for-8 with five RBI and four runs scored against Porcello.

The teams combined for 32 hits, including 19 by Texas.

Detroit took an early 1-0 lead after Andrew Romine hit a two-out single in the second inning and scored from first base on Rajai Davis' double.

But Texas used a four-run fourth to go ahead for good. Chris Gimenez drove in Beltre with a double, then scored on Martin's single. The last two runs came home on Odor's triple just over first baseman Miguel Cabrera's glove.

Beltre hit a two-out homer inside the left-field pole in the fifth inning to give the Tigers a 5-1 lead.

The blast, Beltre's eighth of the season, came after the Tigers successfully challenged a safe call on Elvis Andrus' attempted steal of second base after a leadoff single. Replays showed shortstop Romine's tag got Andrus on the arm just before his hand reached the bag.

Murphy hit a two-run homer in the sixth inning and Mitch Moreland added an RBI double off Davis' glove on the warning track after Corey Knebel replaced Porcello.

A replay challenge got Martinez and the Rangers out of trouble in the bottom of the sixth when it was ruled Moreland did step on first base for an inning- ending double play with the bases loaded. Nick Castellanos had lined out to Odor at second base to start the play.

Odor's second triple in the seventh inning off Knebel scored Alex Rios, Martin and Murphy to make it 11-1.

Ian Kinsler hit an RBI single off Aaron Poreda in the ninth for Texas.
