Recap: Chicago WSox vs. NY Yankees

Chicago, IL (SportsNetwork.com) - The New York Yankees finally beat the White Sox in Chicago and did so in stunning fashion on Saturday.

A day after losing on a walk-off home run by Adam Dunn, the Yankees forced extra innings with three runs in the ninth and won it, 4-3, on Jacoby Ellsbury's solo homer in the 10th.

New York was down to its final out trailing 3-0 in the ninth before putting together a rally against Ronald Belisario.

Alfonso Soriano doubled in Ellsbury and scored on Yangervis Solarte's single to left, and after Ichiro Suzuki walked to move a runner into scoring position, Brian McCann came through with a pinch-hit RBI single to center.

Belisario's blown save blew a gem tossed by John Danks, who struck out four, did not issue a walk and allowed just three hits over eight scoreless frames.

The comeback win snapped New York's eight-game skid at U.S. Cellular Field.

"We'll take wins any way we can get them," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said. "Maybe this gets us going."

Dellin Betances (3-0) tossed a perfect ninth to earn the win, and David Robertson, who served up Dunn's game-winning homer on Friday, stranded the tying run on second in the 10th to earn his 10th save.

Adam Eaton and Gordon Beckham both recorded three hits and scored a run for the White Sox, who did not score after the first inning.

Zach Putnam (2-1) served up Ellsbury's deciding blast to take the loss.

"We have to just tip our hat and go get them (Sunday)," Danks said. "It's part of baseball."

New York starter Vidal Nuno looked like he was in for a long day when he surrendered three straight hits to start his outing.

Eaton and Beckham both singled, and Dayan Viciedo found the gap in left to produce a run. A sacrifice fly by Dunn and a run-scoring groundout by Alexei Ramirez made it 3-0, but Nuno settled down and pitched into the eighth.

Nuno was charged with nine hits and a walk over seven-plus frames.

Other than Mark Teixeira's ground-rule double in the fourth, Danks was spotless over the first seven innings. He shook off consecutive two-out singles in the eighth by retiring Brett Gardner on a flyout to right, but was pulled to start the ninth with his pitch count at 104.

Game Notes

Danks came in with a 7.11 ERA in six career starts against the Yankees ... In playing his 2,584th game at shortstop, New York's Derek Jeter set an MLB record for the most appearances at a single fielding position without having played another position ... The White Sox had not lost to the Yankees at home since falling to them on Aug. 4, 2011 ... White Sox manager Robin Ventura was ejected by first base umpire Dan Bellino for arguing an out-of-the baseline call in the second inning.
