Recap: Arizona vs. Atlanta

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Gerardo Parra singled in the winning run in the 11th inning as the Arizona Diamondbacks grabbed a 4-3 win over the Atlanta Braves in the second of a three-game set from Chase Field.

With David Carpenter (4-1) on the mound, Cody Ross singled with one out and Didi Gregorius followed with a walk. Parra then blooped a single to center and Ross scored easily for the win.

Miguel Montero hit a solo home run while Martin Prado went 3-for-5 with a run scored for the Diamondbacks, who have won four of their last five games.

Wade Miley gave Arizona a solid start, giving up two runs -- one earned -- on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts over seven frames. Randall Delgado (1-1) pitched a scoreless 11th inning for the win.

Jason Heyward hit a solo home run and drove in two, while Evan Gattis was 3- for-5 with an RBI for the Braves, who have lost three of four.

"We had an opportunity to win and (the Diamondbacks) made the most of it," Heyward said. "They put some at-bats together and that broken-bat hit there at the end, that looks like a line drive tomorrow."

Ervin Santana gave up just an unearned run on six hits over seven innings in the start.

Arizona took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when, with runners on first and second, Ender Inciarte hit a grounder to short that saw a force out at second, but Dan Uggla's throw to first went wild and Prado scored for a 1-0 lead.

In the third, Andrelton Simmons doubled and took third on a bad throw by Parra. Heyward hit a grounder to third and Simmons slid under Montero's tag at the plate to tie the game.

Atlanta went on top in the sixth, as Justin Upton singled with two outs and Gattis punched a double to left-center for a 2-1 lead.

Craig Kimbrel came on to close the game in the ninth, but walked Inciarte with one out and he promptly stole second. Pinch-hitter Aaron Hill then stroked a double to tie the game.

"It's important, especially when we come back off the closer," Montero said of his team rallying against Kimbrel. "When we come back and beat him, it gives you like an extra boost in your body."

Heyward homered in the 10th with two outs, but Montero blasted one over the fence in left in the home half to keep the game going.
