Recap: Colorado vs. Los Angeles

Denver, CO ( - Clayton Kershaw tossed an impressive five innings of one-run ball to guide the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies as the game was called after 5 1/2 innings due to rain.

The delay lasted one hour and 35 minutes before the rubber match of this three-game series at Coors Field was called.

Prior to the rain delay, Kershaw (5-2) was dealing. He allowed just three hits, one being a solo homer, while fanning nine across five innings of work.

"He's always tough. He's one of the best pitchers in the league," Colorado second baseman Josh Rutledge said of Kershaw.

Hanley Ramirez stroked a solo home run and Matt Kemp went 2-for-2 with a two- run triple for the Dodgers, who had lost three of four coming into the game.

Jorge De La Rosa (6-5) was tagged for five runs on four hits and four walks with eight strikeouts over 5 1/3 innings in the setback.

Troy Tulowitzki connected on a solo home run that accounted for the lone run for Colorado, which has lost nine of its last 10 games.

Chone Figgins and Ramirez both walked to start the game. Kemp lined a one-out triple to center field that let Los Angeles grab an early 2-0 lead.

"With a two-run lead early, I just wanted to go out there, throw strikes and let them beat (us)," Kershaw said.

Tulowitzki crushed the first pitch of the bottom of the fourth frame over the left-field fence to cut the deficit in making it 2-1.

The Dodgers opened up the game in the sixth.

Ramirez stroked a 472-foot solo shot over the seats in left field. After back- to-back walks from De La Rosa, Matt Belisle took the mound. Jamie Romak and Miguel Rojas each collected their first major league hit and RBI with two outs. Romak lined a two-run double to center and Rojas followed with an RBI single up the middle to increase the cushion to 6-1.
