Recap: Baltimore vs. Boston

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Chris Davis hit a two-run homer to back seven scoreless innings from Wei-Yin Chen, as the Baltimore Orioles beat the Boston Red Sox, 6-0, in the rubber match of a three-game series.

Chen (7-2) gave up four hits while striking out a season-high seven batters for the Orioles, who bounced back from a 1-0 loss on Tuesday. Adam Jones, Nick Hundley, Jonathan Schoop and Nick Markakis each knocked in a run.

Boston starter Rubby De La Rosa (1-2) allowed four runs on seven hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over 5 2/3 innings.

The Orioles jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first. Steve Pearce walked and raced home on Jones' double down the left-field line. After Nelson Cruz flied out for the second out, Davis homered to right.

"I came out here early today and worked on a few things that have really be helpful for me in the past and was able to swing the bat the way I wanted to tonight so it was definitely a good night for me," Davis said.

Chen retired the first 10 batters he faced but gave up a two-out single to Dustin Pedroia in the fourth. Pedroia was thrown out at second as he tried to stretch the single into a double.

"He pitched great tonight," Pedroia said of Chen. "He had great stuff. We couldn't get anything going off him."

Hundley added an RBI single in the bottom half of the frame.

After the top of the seventh, the game was delayed 98 minutes due to rain.

Baltimore tacked on two more runs in the eighth. Chris Capuano loaded the bases with one out. A pair of runs were forced in when Schoop and Markakis worked walks.
