Recap: Baltimore vs. Chicago WSox

Baltimore, MD (SportsNetwork.com) - Alejandro De Aza drove in two runs as the Chicago White Sox defeated the Baltimore Orioles, 4-2, in the middle contest of a three-game set.

Alexei Ramirez supplied two hits and two runs scored and Gordon Beckham homered for the White Sox, who snapped a five-game losing streak overall as well as an eight-game skid on the road.

Jose Quintana (4-7), who was winless in his last four starts, tossed seven innings of one-run ball, giving up six hits and three walks while fanning eight batters to earn the win.

"It was a good effort by [Quintana] to get us in a spot where we could win," said Chicago manager Robin Ventura. "We did enough to win."

Steve Pearce homered and Adam Jones contributed two hits for Baltimore, which had its three-game win streak come to an end.

"We would like to win every one of them, but we know what reality is," said Orioles manager Buck Showalter.

O's starter Miguel Gonzalez (4-5) conceded three runs on nine hits with three walks across five frames in defeat.

Beckham gave the White Sox an early lead in the first after crushing a fastball over the left-field wall with one out.

Chicago tacked on another run in the second. Ramirez doubled down the left- field line, moved to third on Dayan Viciedo's ground out and scored on De Aza's base hit.

With runners on the corners and two outs in the fourth, Tyler Flowers' single into right brought home Viciedo to give the White Sox a 3-0 lead. Adam Eaton walked to load the bases before Beckham grounded out to Gonzalez, ending the threat.

Pearce got the Orioles on the board in the sixth with a leadoff shot right inside the left-field pole, but the visitors responded.

Ramirez led off the eighth with a single, stole second and moved up to third on a passed ball. Two batters later, De Aza reached on a fielder's choice grounder and Ramirez slid underneath catcher Caleb Joseph's tag at home for a 4-1 Chicago advantage.

After Scott Downs allowed a leadoff single to Chris Davis in the ninth, Ronald Belisario took the mound and was greeted with a single from Manny Machado. Pinch-hitter Delmon Young drove in J.J. Hardy with a single up the middle, but Belisario closed out the contest and earned his eighth save of the season after getting pinch-hitter Ryan Flaherty to ground into a 4-6-3 double play.
