Recap: Milwaukee vs. Colorado

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Braun drove in the game-winning run with a walk-off single, leading the Milwaukee Brewers to a 3-2 victory over the Colorado Rockies in the second contest of a four-game set on Friday.

Matt Belisle (2-3) took the mound for Colorado in the ninth and was greeted with a single from Mark Reynolds. Jean Segura's sacrifice bunt moved Reynolds to second and pinch-hitter Scooter Gennett was intentionally walked. A passed ball allowed both runners to move up a base. Rickie Weeks struck out before Braun's single up the middle won the game.

"It was a tough situation for Matty," said Rockies manager Walt Weiss. "The guys fought to the last out. That's what we have been doing every night, but we are just coming up on the short end."

Braun drove in two runs and Khris Davis doubled twice for the Brewers, who won their third straight game and seventh in nine overall. They're the first team to reach 50 wins this season.

"When you're in front you have a lot of good people trying to catch you," Brewers manager Ron Roenicke said. "The guys don't worry about where we are and keep staying after it, being aggressive. I think this team will continue to play well."

Francisco Rodriguez (3-2) earned the win despite giving up the game-tying run in the ninth. Starter Kyle Lohse surrendered just one run on seven hits with four strikeouts across seven strong innings.

Josh Rutledge homered among his three hits and scored two runs for Colorado, which has dropped 10 of its last 11 games. Starter Tyler Matzek gave up one run on five hits in six innings of work.

The Brewers opened the scoring in the sixth. Weeks led off with a double to center, moved to third on Braun's ground out and scored after Jonathan Lucroy's bloop single eluded the glove of Rockies shortstop Troy Tulowitzki.

The Rockies countered in the seventh. Rutledge doubled and Ryan Wheeler singled to put runners at the corners with no outs. Two batters later, Brandon Barnes' pinch-hit sacrifice bunt scored Rutledge.

Khris Davis doubled to lead off the home half off Nick Masset, who walked Reynolds. Weeks later drew a walk off Rex Brothers to load the bases. Adam Ottavino took the mound and plunked Braun with a first-pitch fastball to usher in a run and give the Brewers a 2-1 lead.

Rutledge crushed a hanging slider over the left-field wall off Rodriguez to tie the game at two with one out in the ninth.

Game Notes

The Brewers have won five straight over the Rockies ... Lucroy had his 29th multi-hit game of the season ... Colorado right fielder Charlie Blackmon had his eight-game hit streak come to an end ... Colorado went 2-for-9 with runners in scoring position.
