Recap: San Diego vs. Arizona

San Diego, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Odrisamer Despaigne tossed a solid 6 2/3 innings, leading the San Diego Padres to a 2-1 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks in the final contest of a three-game set.

Despaigne (2-0), who did not allow a run in his major league debut against San Francisco on Monday, conceded just one run on five hits and four walks to earn the win.

"He keeps working his way through and is pretty composed with clear thinking," said Padres manager Bud Black. "This guy knows how to pitch."

Cameron Maybin had an RBI double and Alexi Amarista drove in a run for the Padres, who snapped a three-game skid.

Miguel Montero brought home Arizona's lone run and David Peralta supplied two hits for Arizona, which entered the game with wins in three of its last four games.

Diamondbacks starter Mike Bolsinger (1-4) was tagged with the loss after giving up just two runs on three hits and four walks over six innings.

"He gave us a good effort," Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson said of his starter. "I don't have any complaints about him."

Ender Inciarte led off the game with a single and stole second base. Paul Goldschmidt took a one-out walk before Montero's line-drive base hit to left made it a 1-0 game in the opening frame.

The Padres went ahead in the fourth. Maybin's double off the base of the right-field wall plated Chase Headley from second and Amarista's sacrifice fly to center gave San Diego a 2-1 lead.

Peralta reached second in both the fifth and seventh innings, but Arizona could not bring him home.

Huston Street spun a perfect ninth to earn his 21st save of the season.
