Recap: Milwaukee vs. San Francisco

Milwaukee, WI (SportsNetwork.com) - Pablo Sandoval went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer and three RBI, Ryan Vogelsong tossed six solid innings and the San Francisco Giants beat the Milwaukee Brewers, 7-4, in the middle test of a three-game series.

Michael Morse also knocked in three runs for the Giants, who have won five of seven. Joe Panik went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run scored.

Vogelsong (7-8), coming off a complete-game performance against the Mets last Friday, allowed one run on seven hits. He struck out three and walked one.

"The stuff I was doing last start didn't work today," said Vogelsong. "It was kind of a weird day."

Carlos Gomez and Khris Davis homered for the Brewers, who have lost three of four. Aramis Ramirez drove in two runs.

"I liked the offense, I thought we did a real nice job," said Brewers manager Ron Roenicke. "We squared up some balls that would have been big for us if they had fallen in."

Yovani Gallardo (6-6) got the start for Milwaukee and gave up four runs on nine hits with four walks over four innings. He had tossed 16 2/3 consecutive scoreless innings coming into Wednesday's game.

The Giants scored three runs in the first. Hunter Pence and Panik opened the game with back-to-back singles. Runners were on the corners after Buster Posey grounded into a fielder's choice, and Sandoval followed with an RBI single to left. A wild pitch put men on second and third for Morse, who hit a two-run single to center. The visitors left the bases loaded later in the inning.

Gomez hit a leadoff homer in the bottom half of the frame.

San Francisco tacked on another run in the fourth. With men on the corners and two outs, Morse hit an RBI single to right.

The Brewers pulled within 4-3 in the seventh. Juan Gutierrez was pulled after giving up consecutive singles to pinch-hitter Rickie Weeks and Gomez. Jeremy Affeldt got the pinch-hitter Davis to line out to right. Weeks advanced to third and was thrown out at the plate when Ryan Braun grounded into a fielder's choice. Gomez and Braun pulled off a double steal before Ramirez hit a two-run single to left.

But the Giants responded with three runs in the eighth. Juan Perez and Pence hit consecutive singles to put men on the corners. After Pence was caught stealing second, Panik hit an RBI single to center. Tom Gorzelanny took over for Brandon Kintzler and gave up a two-run homer to Sandoval.

Davis homered off Santiago Casilla in the ninth.
