Recap: Seattle vs. Chicago WSox

Seattle, WA (SportsNetwork.com) - Conor Gillaspie hit a go-ahead RBI single in the top of the 10th inning as the Chicago White Sox edged the Seattle Mariners, 2-1, in the third test of a four-game set.

Tyler Flowers hit a one-out single off Fernando Rodney (1-5), but was forced out at second following pinch hitter Jordan Danks' bouncer to first. Danks stole second during Gordon Beckham's at-bat and runners were on the corners after Chris Taylor was unable to handle Beckham's grounder.

Gillaspie then whacked a base hit to right to bring home Danks to give Chicago a 2-1 lead.

"(Rodney) is tough," said Gillaspie. "Big win. We needed it as a team."

Jake Petricka worked a scoreless 10th to notch his eighth save of the year, while Eric Surkamp (1-0) got the win after picking up the final two outs of the ninth.

Alexei Ramirez went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Jose Abreu had two hits and scored a run for the White Sox, who snapped a four-game losing streak.

White Sox starter Hector Noesi allowed an unearned run on five hits and a walk over 7 1/3 frames.

Kyle Seager smacked an RBI double for Seattle, which had a four-game winning streak come to an end.

Mariners starter James Paxton surrendered a run on six hits over 6 1/3 frames.

"He threw the ball well, I thought he did a nice job for us," Mariners manager Lloyd McClendon said of Paxton.

Seattle opened the scoring in the fourth when Robinson Cano reached on a Beckham throwing error and Seager brought him home on his liner to right.

Chicago got the run back in the seventh. Abreu led off the frame with a double and scored on Ramirez's two-bagger two batters later to make it 1-1.

Each team put the potential go-ahead run on second with one away in the eighth, but both squandered their opportunities.
