Recap: Arizona vs. Los Angeles

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Matt Kemp hit an early two-run homer and the Los Angeles Dodgers pulled away from the Arizona Diamondbacks with a six-run fourth inning en route to a 9-5 victory on Tuesday.

Justin Turner had two hits, two runs driven in and another run scored while Dee Gordon went 3-for-5 with an RBI for LA, which has won four of its last five overall.

Roberto Hernandez (8-9) tossed six quality innings and also drove in a run in his fourth start in Dodgers blue.

"I thought he was ok, I don't think he was as sharp as the first time we've seen him," said Los Angeles manager Don Mattingly about Hernandez. "He seemed to get behind in the count, but had a kind of 'bend-don't-break' thing going on today."

Ender Inciarte knocked in three runs for Arizona, two with a single in the second inning and the other on a base hit in the fourth.

Trevor Cahill (3-9) came in 2-0 with a 2.33 ERA in four August starts but failed to make it out of the fourth in this one. He was charged with eight runs -- six earned -- on six hits and three walks.

"Wasn't his best performance tonight," said Arizona manager Kirk Gibson about Cahill. "It's one game, but it wasn't a very good performance. He'll tell you the same thing."

The right-hander served up Kemp's blast in the first frame and was victim to the Dodgers batting around in the deciding fourth.

Adrian Gonzalez and Kemp both walked, and Carl Crawford, Turner and A.J. Ellis all singled in a run with one away. Crawford was originally called out at the plate on Ellis' base hit, but replay showed Miguel Montero had the ball in his hand and not his mitt when he tug Crawford on his shoulder.

Another replay went the Dodgers' way when Hernandez put down a well-placed bunt and beat out the throw to first base. Turner scored on the play and Hernandez was ruled safe via replay.

Randall Delgado relieved Cahill with the bases loaded and walked in a run and gave up another on a Gonzalez sacrifice fly.

Turner tacked on an RBI single in the seventh.

Alfredo Marte's ground-rule double in the home eighth plated Mark Trumbo, who then singled in the game's final run in the ninth.

Game Notes

The Dodgers lead the season series 11-4 ... Hernandez scattered three runs on six hits and two walks ... Marte's double was Arizona's only extra-base hit.
