Recap: Oakland vs. Arizona

Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Five Oakland pitchers, led by starter Scott Kazmir, tossed a five-hit shutout as Oakland silenced Arizona, 2-0, in Cactus League play.

Kazmir fanned two and gave up two hits over his three-inning start. Jesse Chavez picked up the win by tossing four scoreless innings of one-hit relief, fanning four and allowing just one hit. Joe Savery added a scoreless eighth and though Fernando Nieve gave up two hits, he closed the door in the ninth.

Billy Burns collected two hits and Daric Barton drove in a run for the Athletics. Jake Elmore hit safely twice and scored once.

Wade Miley took the loss for the Diamondbacks, charged with an unearned run on three hits despite four strikeouts over five frames.
