Recap: Washington vs. NY Mets

Viera, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Ian Desmond smacked one of Washington's four home runs in the Nationals' 11-5 rout of the New York Mets in Grapefruit League play on Wednesday.

Sandy Leon, Matt Skole and Brian Goodwin also went yard for Washington, which hit 4-for-7 with runners in scoring position. The Nats trailed 4-2 after six innings, but they put two across in the seventh and seven in the eighth to pull away.

Gio Gonzalez kept New York scoreless over two innings, while his counterpart Jenrry Mejia allowed an unearned run in his two frames.

Zach Lutz homered for the Mets.
