Recap: Washington vs. Atlanta

Viera, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Ryan Zimmerman slugged a two-run homer and Adam LaRoche added a solo shot as Washington subdued Atlanta, 8-2, in Grapefruit League action.

Denard Span added two hits, a run scored and an RBI, Danny Espinosa scored twice and Bryce Harper drove in one for the Nationals.

Taylor Jordan won thanks to limiting Atlanta to a run on three hits over three relief innings. Starter Ross Detwiler worked the first two and yielded a run on six hits.

Evan Gattis and Jose Yepez drove in a run each for the Braves. Juan Jaime took the loss, charged with the unearned go-ahead run in the fourth inning.
