Recap: Washington vs. NY Mets

Viera, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a two-run single in the top of the ninth inning to lift the New York Mets to a 7-5 Grapefruit League win over the Washington Nationals.

Trailing 2-1, the Mets put up a four-spot in the eighth before Washington tied the game at 5-5 on Brock Peterson's three-run homer in the home half of the inning.

Josh Satin had two RBI for New York.

New York starter Daisuke Matsuzaka and Washington's Ross Detwiler had identical stat lines. Each gave up a one run and three hits in 3 2/3 innings.
