Recap: Washington vs. NY Mets

Viera, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Bryce Harper smacked a three-run home run to highlight a five-run third inning as the Washington Nationals downed the New York Mets, 7-3, in Grapefruit League play from Space Coast Stadium.

Stephen Strasburg got his final spring training start before his Opening Day assignment, also against the Mets, and allowed three runs on five hits in 5 2/3 innings. He struck out seven and walked two.

Ryan Zimmerman also homered and Denard Span went 3-for-4 for the Nationals.

Zack Wheeler started for the Mets and allowed five runs on five hits in 2 2/3 innings, striking out one and walking three.
