Recap: Minnesota vs. Boston

Fort Myers, FL ( - Mike Napoli homered to help lead the Boston Red Sox over the Minnesota Twins, 4-0, in exhibition action from Hammond Stadium.

Mike Carp added two hits, two runs scored and an RBI for the Red Sox, who pounded out 10 of their 11 hits against Minnesota starting pitcher Phil Hughes.

Hughes suffered the loss, allowing four runs, walking one and striking out two in 5 1/3 innings.

Felix Doubront started for Boston and pitched five shutout innings. The left-hander struck out seven, walked two and scattered seven hits. The Boston bullpen pitched four hitless innings from there to secure the win.

Trevor Plouffe had two hits for the Twins.
