Recap: Los Angeles vs. San Diego

Glendale, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Dee Gordon went 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI to highlight the Los Angeles Dodgers' 5-4 Cactus League win over the San Diego Padres.

Hanley Ramirez, Adrian Gonzalez and Mike Baxter all delivered RBI singles to help the Dodgers build a 5-0 lead after three innings, while Steve Smith recorded the final four outs to enable Los Angeles to hold on after the Padres scored four times in the eighth.

Alex Castellanos began San Diego's rally attempt with a solo homer and Daniel Robertson came through with an RBI double before run-scoring singles from Austin Hedges and Alexi Amarista pulled the Padres within 5-4.

San Diego starter Joe Weiland was roughed up in a 2 1/3-inning stint, surrendering all five runs on six hits while issuing five walks.

Regan Smith substituted for Kyle Larson in the No. 42 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet in Sunday's Sprint Cup Series race at Martinsville Speedway after Larson was sidelined due to additional medical tests following his fainting spell on Saturday.
