Recap: Toronto vs. NY Yankees

Dunedin, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Carlos Beltran accounted for one of three home runs by the New York Yankees in an 8-2 win over the Toronto Blue Jays in Grapefruit League play.

Beltran followed a two-run shot by Eduardo Nunez with a solo blast off Todd Redmond in the top of the third inning. J.R. Murphy later belted a three-run homer in the eighth to stake the Yankees to an 8-2 lead.

New York pounded out 14 hits in all, with Adonis Garcia going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Yangervis Solarte singling in each of his two at-bats.

Bryan Mitchell struck out three over two scoreless innings in relief of Yankees starter Vidal Nuno, who surrendered a solo homer to Jose Bautista in his two innings of work.

Melky Cabrera knocked in Toronto's other run with a sixth-inning double as part of a 2-for-3 day.
