Recap: Kansas City vs. San Diego

Surprise, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Alex Gordon doubled, drove in two runs and scored another as the Kansas City Royals downed the San Diego Padres 7-3 in spring training action.

Billy Butler also had an RBI and Jarrod Dyson scored twice for the Royals, whose starter, Jason Vargas, tossed two innings of one-hit, scoreless ball.

Ian Kennedy matched Vargas in his start, but Keyvius Sampson gave up four runs in his lone inning of relief. Cameron Maybin homered for San Diego.
