Recap: Seattle vs. San Diego

Peoria, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - Robinson Cano singled in his first at-bat as the Seattle Mariners opened their Cactus League schedule with a 7-1 win over San Diego.

Cano, the Mariners' prized free-agent addition, scored on a two-out double by Justin Smoak to give Seattle a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first.

Fellow newcomer Logan Morrison had two hits and a sacrifice fly for Seattle, while starter Erasmo Ramirez tossed two scoreless innings.

San Diego had only five hits off seven Mariners pitchers.

Padres starter Eric Stults gave up three runs on three hits and walked one over two innings.
