Yeison Asencio had a two-run single and Nick Hundley added an RBI hit during the rally. Padres starter Josh Johnson struck out two in two perfect innings.

Tyler Colvin hit a two-run single for the Giants and starter Tim Lincecum went two innings, giving up one hit and one walk with one strikeout.
