Recap: Boston vs. Northeastern

Fort Myers, FL (SportsNetwork.com) - Scott Cousins' RBI triple highlighted a four-run sixth inning that lifted the Boston Red Sox to a 5-2 win over Northeastern in the defending World Series champions' spring training debut.

Boston trailed the Huskies 2-1 prior to the sixth-inning outburst, with the first two runs crossing the plate on a fielding error by Northeastern shortstop Keith Kelly.

Ryan Lavarnway went 2-for-2 with a double in the victory, while Red Sox starter Brandon Workman struck out two over a pair of scoreless innings.

The Huskies were held to four hits by six Boston hurlers, with James Hand knocking in both Northeastern runs with a double in the top of the sixth.
