Giancarlo Stanton was the lone player to dent a New York pitcher, with his seventh-inning single off Preston Claiborne.

Gary Sanchez hit a two-run homer, Francisco Cervelli went 3-for-3 with an RBI and two runs scored, while Yangervis Solarte added three hits and drove in a pair for the Yankees.

Nathan Eovaldi took the loss despite giving up just one run on four hits with three strikeouts in four full frames.
