Recap: Colorado vs. Cincinnati

Denver, CO ( - Michael Cuddyer hit for the cycle as the Colorado Rockies defeated the Cincinnati Reds, 10-5, to sweep a doubleheader on Sunday.

Cuddyer, who was reinstated off the disabled list after missing his last 60 games with a left shoulder fracture, became the seventh Colorado player to hit for the cycle and the first since Carlos Gonzalez on July 31, 2010 against the Chicago Cubs.

Cuddyer drove in three and scored three runs, Corey Dickerson had two hits, three RBI and two runs scored and Josh Rutledge posted three hits and a pair of runs scored for the Rockies, who have won three of their last four games.

The Rockies trailed 5-2 before plating three in the seventh and five more in the eighth to go ahead.

Drew Stubbs hit a three-run, walk-off homer in the first of this doubleheader after Colorado had been down 9-5 entering the ninth.

"I always say, no matter what your record is or where you are in the standings, it's always more fun to smile after a game than frown," Cuddyer said. "And we're able to smile after two games today."

Adam Ottavino (1-4) tossed a scoreless eighth to notch the win.

Ryan Ludwick scacked a two-run homer for Cincinnati, which has dropped seven of its last nine games. Carlos Contreras (0-1) allowed five runs -- four earned -- over 1 1/3 innings to garner the loss.

"The first one got away from us and the second one got away from us. I know runs can be scored here in a hurry," Reds manager Bryan Price said.

Charlie Blackmon walked and Rutledge singled to begin the seventh before Dickerson's base hit brought home Blackmon.Cuddyer singled to load the bases. Nolan Arenado then bounced one to third, which allowed Rutledge to score as Ramon Santiago stepped on the base for a force out, and Cuddyer came across when Satiago's throw to first got away to tie it.

With the bases loaded and two away in the eighth, Dickerson reached out and slapped a double to right-center to push across a pair. Cuddyer lined a double down the left-field line to bring home two more and Stubbs hit an RBI single later in the frame to give Colorado a 10-5 advantage.

The Reds opened the scoring in the first on Jay Bruce's RBI groundout, but Colorado got the run back in the fifth on a Brandon Barnes leadoff homer.

Cincinnati went back ahead with three runs in the sixth. Ludwick cracked his two-run shot to left-center and Brayan Pena later added an RBI double to give the Reds a 4-1 lead.

Cuddyer's leadoff blast in the home half made it 4-2, but Cincy got another run in the seventh via a Santiago sacrifice fly.
