St. Petersburg, FL ( - Toronto shortstop Jose Reyes left Monday's, 9-2, season-opening loss against the Tampa Bay Rays in the first inning with left hamstring tightness.

Reyes flew out to center for the top of the first and didn't appear to be in severe pain despite not running at full speed to first base. The 30-year-old failed to take the field in the bottom of the first and was replaced by Ryan Goins.

Reyes struggled with hamstring issues at the end of spring training and it was uncertain whether he would be ready for Opening Day.
