Giants strike two-year deal with IF Arias

San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - The San Francisco Giants and utility infielder Joaquin Arias agreed to terms on a two-year contract Thursday.

The pact, which covers Arias' final two arbitration-eligible seasons, is worth $2.6 million according to Comcast SportsNet Bay Area.

Arias has hit .270 with six home runs and 53 RBI during his two previous seasons in San Francisco, while starting games at all four infield positions. The 29-year-old Dominican batted .271 with one homer and 19 RBI over 102 games in 2013.

Over part of six major league campaigns with Texas, the New York Mets and San Francisco, Arias owns a .272 average with 11 triples, six homers and 76 RBI.
