New York, NY ( - Reigning Cy Young award winners Clayton Kershaw of the Los Angeles Dodgers and Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers were among 146 players who will be eligible for salary arbitration, per a Tuesday release from Major League Baseball.

Kershaw, who won the award in 2011 and was a runner-up in 2012, received the NL honor with a Major League-leading 1.83 ERA, his third consecutive year earning the NL ERA crown. He also punched out a National League leading 232 hitters and compiled the first NL ERA three-peat since Greg Maddux (1993-95).

Scherzer's AL recognition came in large part to the hurler's 13 straight victories to start the season en route to a 21-3 mark. He was among AL leaders with a 2.90 ERA and set career highs in strikeouts (240) and innings pitched (214 1/3).

Other notable names who filed for arbitration include Rays starter David Price, Orioles catcher Matt Weiters, Reds closer Aroldis Chapman, Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton, Red Sox reliever Junichi Tazawa and Pirates third baseman Pedro Alvarez.

The Atlanta Braves have three high-profile players who have filed in closer Craig Kimbrel, first baseman Freddie Freeman and outfielder Jason Heyward.

Washington and the Chicago Cubs listed a Major League-leading eight players with Nationals shortstop Ian Desmond and Cubs second baseman Darwin Barney heading each team's respective list.

Players and teams will submit salary figures next week and the arbitration hearings will be held in February.
