Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles and outfielder Nate McLouth finalized a one-year contract on Thursday.

McLouth was signed by Baltimore last season after being released by the Pittsburgh Pirates and became an important piece for the Orioles down the stretch, as he hit .268 with seven home runs and 18 RBI in 55 games.

He emerged as the team's starting left fielder, while providing a spark from the leadoff spot in the absence of Brian Roberts and Nick Markakis.

The 31-year-old McLouth broke into the majors in 2005 with the Bucs and was named a National League All-Star and a Gold Glove winner in 2008. He led the NL with 46 doubles that season.

In 820 major league contests over eight seasons, McLouth is a .248 hitter with 88 homers and 290 RBI.
