Baltimore, MD (Sports Network) - The Baltimore Orioles announced Friday that the team has acquired infielder Alexi Casilla off waivers from the Minnesota Twins among a flurry of roster moves.

Casilla played in a career-high 106 games while starting 83 at second base for the Twins this past season, and batted .241 with one home run, 30 RBI and stealing a personal-best 21 stolen bases in 22 attempts.

The 28-year-old switch-hitter, who is arbitration eligible, owns a .250 lifetime average with 11 homers, 147 RBI and 71 steals over seven major league seasons, all with Minnesota.

Baltimore also outrighted outfielder Lew Ford, infielder Steve Tolleson and left-handed pitcher Zach Phillips to Triple-A Norfolk and reinstated second baseman Brian Roberts, outfielder Nolan Reimold and pitchers Oliver Drake, Stu Pomeranz and Tsuyoshi Wada from the 60-day disabled list.

The oft-injured Roberts was limited to just 17 games in 2012 due to concussion syptoms and hip surgery. Reimold batted .313 with five homers in 16 games before suffering a season-ending neck injury in late April.

Ford was on the Orioles' 25-man roster for October's American League Division Series, but batted a mere .183 in 25 games during the regular season.
