San Diego, CA (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres have acquired pitcher Tyson Ross from Oakland as part of a four-player trade.

In addition to Ross, the Padres also picked up infielder A.J. Kirby-Jones and sent infielder Andy Parrino and pitcher Andrew Werner to the Athletics.

Ross split the 2012 season with Oakland and its Triple-A affiliate in Sacramento. He was 2-11 with a 6.50 ERA in 18 games, including 13 starts, for the Athletics and 6-2 with a 2.99 ERA in 15 games, including 13 starts, for the River Cats.

The 25-year-old right-hander has a record of 6-18 with a 5.33 ERA in 53 games, 21 of which have been starts, over parts of three seasons with the Athletics. He was selected by Oakland in the second round of the 2008 draft.

Kirby-Jones spent 2012 with Single-A Stockton and hit .248 in 115 games.

Parrino appeared in 55 games for the Padres last season, batting .207 with a homer and six runs batted in. He was a .328 hitter in 65 games for Triple-A Tucson.

Werner, a 25-year-old lefty, was 2-3 with a 5.58 ERA in eight starts for San Diego in his debut season of 2012. He was 5-10 with a 3.70 ERA in 22 minor league starts last year.
