Denver, CO (Sports Network) - The Colorado Rockies and pitcher Jeff Francis made it official Wednesday, coming to terms on a one-year contract.

Financial terms were not disclosed for the pact, which was reported during the league's annual Winter Meetings earlier in December.

The 31-year-old lefty was signed as a free agent by Cincinnati prior to last season, but was released by the Reds on June 4. Four days later, he signed with the Rockies and compiled a 6-7 mark with a 5.58 earned run average in 24 starts.

The Canadian-born hurler has pitched in 205 games, all but 31 with the Rockies, and has a 67-73 record with a 4.86 ERA. He went 6-16 with the Kansas City Royals in 2011.

Francis was selected ninth overall in the 2002 amateur draft by Colorado and is second in Rockies history in wins (61) and innings pitched (995 2/3).
